"Universiti Sains Malaysia school of social sciences deputy dean Associate Professor Dr Sivamurugan Pandian said Pas should stop its veteran leaders from contesting in the general election if it wanted the party to move beyond Kelantan's shadow. With Nik Aziz contesting, it shows that Pas is still very much a personality driven party, and this will not benefit them in the long run at the national level. Pas has to understand that there are a lot of changes outside the party and it can't stick to the same strategy." - NST, 5 February 2012
