Thaipusam, 7 February 2012

Thaipusam: a Hindu festival celebrated on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai. It is referred to the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel "spear" to vanquish the evil demon Soorapadam. Some says Thaipusam marks Murugan's birthday although it is believed Murugan's birthday falls in May/June (Vaikhasi month). Let's understand 'humanity' and practice those values in our daily life.

Every Thaipusam, USM have been offering food for the people at Waterfall temple. For the past 8 years, I'm one of the volunteers, today too
